National parks near Lusaka

Lusaka has a small national park of its own, thirty minutes from the centre, with white rhinos. The Lower Zambezi is three to four hours by road or thirty minutes by air, for canoeing and river safaris opposite Zimbabwe's Mana Pools. Lochinvar, on the Kafue Flats, is for birds and lechwe antelope. South Luangwa and Kafue, the country's great parks, are reached by scheduled light aircraft.
