National parks near Jaipur

Jaipur is the usual base for Ranthambore, three hours by road or two by train to Sawai Madhopur, where morning and afternoon tiger safaris should be booked well ahead. Keoladeo, the bird sanctuary at Bharatpur, is three hours east on the Agra road. Kuno, the cheetah park in Madhya Pradesh, is a longer drive to the south-east. October to April is the season; the tiger reserve's core closes from July to September.
