The Valley of Flowers is a high alpine meadow reached by a trek from Govindghat via Ghangaria, open from June to early October and at its peak of bloom from mid-July to mid-August, in the monsoon. It shares a World Heritage listing with Nanda Devi, whose inner sanctuary is closed, though the outer trails to the base camp viewpoints are open to trekkers.
