Largest national parks in Finland

Lemmenjoki, in northern Lapland, is the largest national park in Finland, 2,858 square kilometres of roadless forest and fell along the Norwegian border, where a few gold prospectors still work claims. Urho Kekkonen, named after the long-serving president who skied there, is second at 2,550. The rest are far smaller, and the two parks beside Helsinki cover less than eighty square kilometres between them.
