Thailand's Department of National Parks publishes visitor numbers for every park, and they show how domestic tourism dominates: Khao Yai leads with about one and a half million visitors, mostly Thai, followed by Ao Phang Nga, Doi Inthanon, Erawan and Doi Suthep-Pui. Foreigners pay a higher entrance fee, usually 200 to 500 baht. The busiest times are Thai public holidays and the cool season from November to February.
